Rewatching Conquest of the Planet of the Apes for the first time in forever

Some things so far I hadn’t noticed before.

  1. There’s a large number of black characters on equal footing as the white ones. The message being as long as there’s a subclass to be the ocean, everyone in the boats float.

  2. Holy crap, enroute to being auctioned, Caeser is taken to ‘inseminate’ a female chimp…and its played as a joke?? Ouch.

  3. Man, Ricardo Montalban is good in this.

Is there a trope for 'bad guys paranoia beggars belief…but almost always winds up being correct.?"

It’s certainly a trope in all (but, perhaps, the last) original Apes films. Someone should sell a “Zaius was Right!” t-shirt.

Holy crap this video is dead on.

I am curious if you were inspired by The Orville because that made me want to watch this again but I haven’t yet.

No. What did the Orville do?

Spoilers for the Orville:

They showed the origin of an artificial race that was very similar to what happens to the apes in this movie.
