RFK Jr Files to Run for President (Dropped Out on August 23, 2024)

He’s lost his Secret Service protection too.

BTW, am I the only one who finds RFK Junior’s voice really annoying? That wavering thing gets to me.

He says it bothers him, too.

Regarding the whale story; Can just anybody go to a beach that a whale has washed up on and take whatever pieces they want or was he actually breaking a law?

Bears, whales, falcons….he’s a real friend to the animal kingdom.

At least he didn’t leave it in Central Park.

“He’s a menace to himself and everything else in the air… yes, birds too.”

–Airplane! (1980)

Technically, everything on the beach is owned by whoever or whatever owns the beach. I would guess that means it’s owned by the city of Hyannis Port. Even if it’s public property, that doesn’t mean the public is free to take whatever they want. For instance, you can’t just haul away palm trees and dump trucks full of sand from the beach. But when it’s something that’s considered trash or debris, the city is unlikely to pursue any action. I would assume they would consider the whale carcass as debris and wouldn’t care that someone took part of it away. One possible complication is if he made the carcass removal more difficult when he removed the head. If he made a big mess that required expensive cleanup, then they might go after him for that.

It’s like the one thing I give him a pass on.

Spasmodic dysphonia is a chronic neurological voice disorder and a focal laryngeal dystonia. It results in involuntary spasms of the muscles that open or close the vocal folds, causing a voice that presents with breaks and strained/strangled quality or breathy quality, depending on the type of spasmodic dysphonia (adductor or abductor).

He has a medical condition that makes him sound like that.

Can’t collect any part from a species listed as endangered under the Endangered Species Act, period (which includes many whales, though not all of them). You cannot collect anything with soft tissue still attached, i.e. from a rotting carcass. Even if it is something technically legal to keep (like a non-endangered seal tooth or something), it was to be both identified and registered with a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration fisheries office. It is to illegal to buy or sell a registered item.

I heard his sister Kerry speaking a few days ago and was surprised that she has it, too. I checked and his sisters Rory and Courtney also have it.

Sinatra supported FDR, and campaigned for Truman and Stevenson. He was good friends with JFK, who used a Sinatra recording of a slightly altered “High Hopes” as a campaign song. Once he was elected, Kennedy started to distance himself because of Sinatra’s ties to the mob. Sinatra switched to the Republicans when McGovern ran for president.

He wasnt alone. McGovern was a huge mistake. So was Goldwater, and other fringies- dont run the fringe.

Thank you Tamerlane and Filmore for the answers about the whale carcass. I get a real sense of entitlement from RFK Jr. I’m sure it never occurred to him that he’d encounter a problem with breaking a law. Same with the bear story.

He’d make an absolutely awful leader.

A friend texted me, “I wish someone would ask Trump, why do you want the endorsement of the guy you called ‘the dumbest Kennedy’?”

He is just the kind of dumb that Trump has been looking for.

To bad he didnt drop out earlier, he would be perfect Veep material…

I think Trump would be afraid he’d steal the spotlight.

RFK JR. also says many Democrats will be endorsing Trump as well. Uh huh. If that happens I will dance down the street wearing only banana peels.

There are calls for an investigation into that. However, it sounds like it was 30 years ago, there’s probably a statute of limitations issue.
