Dammit.
Now we know what happened to Eddie’s extra ticket.
I’ve reached the age where the musicians I looked up to as a wanna-be rock star are starting to pass away and it’s fucking depressing.
Just what I didn’t need. RIP.
Well crap.
Crap. RIP, Ric. 75’s a ripe old age, though.
Ben sang that ftr. Ben…who also is no longer with us.
“I don’t mind you coming here
And wasting all my time”
Unofficial Anthem for the SDMB?
He was 70? Or 75?
Shit, I feel so old now.
RIP, Ric.
Weird. Not on the NYTimes.
Daniel Johnson, Eddie Money and Ric Ocasek are gonna make for a really weird jam session in the afterlife.
How about it. Dopers, remember that music video you liked in 1984? That one with the bumblebee? That was 35 years ago.
By the way whenever the age old question of “What’s the greatest American band not named Beach Boys?” was asked…I always said “The Cars”.
The Cars are my favorite group. I have all seven albums, including their 2011 album Moves Like This. I listended to Heartbeat City this morning.
Everything’s a mess.
A fly actually,
And yes, RIP
I haven’t listened to all of “Moves Like This” but
i have ‘Soon’ saved on Spotify
Often a band reforming doesn’t even remotely have it anymore…but that song is a slice of heaven in a time machine.
That really is a sobering list. And, to it, for me personally, I can add members of my very favorite groups:
Jeff Lynne (ELO) 71
Brian May (Queen) 72
Jon Anderson (Yes) 74
Steve Howe (Yes) 72 (but looks particularly old and frail these days)
Well, shit. Ric was one cool dude. RIP.
RIP Mr. Ocasek; you done good.
Excellent songs. One of the most boring live bands I’ve ever seen, but they did have excellent songs.
Who’s gonna drive you home, tonight?
