Riding A Bike Is HARD!

Have you done a thread on your accident? I’d been meaning to ask about it but didn’t want to hijack threads I’d seen you in (like this one.)

Or Australia ;).

There is definitely such a thing as being “bike fit” and the only way to get it is to ride.

The nice thing about a bike is you can ride without having an ideal body. I’ve seen very large people riding centuries(100 miles) and I know of one man who is 5-8/260 lbs. who has done multiple double and triple Ironmans.

By the way, you do have a helmet, right?

I did one here.

Yes. I’m a big believer in them. Almost no one in this neighborhood wears one, including kids, even though the law says minors have to wear them, but I definitely wear one, and so do my kids.

Geez, I’ve driven a fairly sturdy car in Tucson and it scared the crap out of me.

You’ll get used to the aches and pains much faster than eight weeks. But get a damn car before it starts turning 100 gazillion degrees out!

Go past my mom’s and say hi!

Oh yeah, my tax return will come and a new car will beckon. I can barely handle the summer sun at all- no way will you find my (now fit) ass out in July on a bike, or the bus, during the day! In the meantime, it is a good opportunity to get into shape, what with all the walking, too.

Excellent, thanks. And it’s not the sort of thing I’d normally say but it seems to be the best fit, respect :).
