OK, once and for all - did the nursery rhyme “Ring Around a Rosy” originate during or as a result of the Black Plague? I’ve heard and read conflicting reports about this and want to see conclusive evidence!

My recollection as a child, decades ago in London:
Ring a ring o’rosies,
A pocket full of posies,
Tishoo! Tishoo!
We all fall down.
Whereupon we did (and kids today have the Internet…)
