RIP Anita Ekberg

Story. Hotter than Mansfield; sexier than Monroe; and not a bad actress.

Wow, I thought she had died [del]years[/del] decades ago. RIP.

Interesting.

Probably few people today are aware of her James Bond connection: In From Russia with Love (1963), Bond shoots an enemy agent as he’s climbing out of her mouth—the wall of the building he was in is covered with a gigantic advert for Call Me Bwana, and her mouth is right where the window is—and husband Rik Van Nutter played CIA agent Felix Leitner in Thunderball (1965).

She was one luscious babe! RIP.

She isnt sexier than Monroe in this universe.

“Sexier than Monroe” is like “North of the North Pole.”

terentii:

Actually the first thing that came to mind, for me.

First thing I thought of as well!

Ironically, in light of the comparisons in this thread, in the book, the poster is a picture of Marilyn Monroe. IIRC the poster in the book was for Niagara.

Me three.

I believe it was a plug for United Artists, the distributor of both movies.

Sort of. Albert R. “Cubby” Broccoli and Harry Salzman were the producers of the first few Bond movies. Their production company, Eon Productions, also produced “Call Me Bwana.” So it was a plug for their production company, whose films were distributed through United Artists.

Staggeringly beautiful woman. I had such a crush on her when I was 14!!
