Pneumonia’s a hell of a way to go… RIP, big guy.
This is a shame. I watched the early seasons of his show in college and really liked it. I never saw him do anything on the same level in the movies he was in, but he was very funny.
Wow, I guess that’s the surprising random death of the year (did anyone have him in your death pool?). I wonder if he went through the same thing as Jim Henson? I’m really not that familiar with most of his work, but he was fun to watch in the Oceans movies.
He played a different character from them all in Pride, a little known Terrence Howard vehicle. Well, maybe not, since it was a curmudgeon custodian job at a rec center, just not with the edge of his curmudgeon on his TV show. Decent acting though.
R.I.P. Bernie Mac. And R.I.P. Isaac Hayes. What a sad weekend.
Rest in Piece because he was a really nice guy from all accounts.
