RIP, Red.
He was all over TV from the 60s to the 80s, but it’s Micklin I remember him as, as well.
He’ll always be Red, the auto-parts store owner from Road House, to me.
Black Sheep Squadron put him in the “hey it’s that guy!” file for me. Now, watching Wild Wild West episodes, I am surprised to see him all the time. He was in a lot of the episodes, as various thugs, bad guys, and background characters, often uncredited.
I enjoyed his work. (I loved that show!) Another good one gone.
Wasn’t he a charter member of the memphis mafia?
He used to keep elvis from getting beat up, and write a book way later called “Elvis: What happened?” I hope i’m right.
(Checks date of thread) I would have guessed he’d be 100 by now and long since dead.
I’m glad it wasn’t just me.
Yes, as was his cousin Sonny West, who wrote Buddy Holly’s “Rave On”.
I think it’s a different sonny west:
Those are my two favorite Buddy Holly songs he wrote. I’m kind of deflated that he didn’t write them.
