Siegfried Fischbacher, of “Siegfried and Roy” fame passed away earlier today:

I never saw the “Siegfried and Roy” show live on stage, but I remember their act from TV and from Vegas Vacation.

I did once meet Siegfried. It was at “Siegfried and Roy’s Secret Garden” at the Mirage in Las Vegas. He was kind enough to pose for a photo with me, and to spend a few minutes telling me about his efforts to promote nature conservancy, especially with wild animals. A very nice gentleman, who seemed to genuinely enjoy meeting fans. He will be missed.

RIP both Siegfried and Roy; y’all done good.

This is easily the most impactful entertainer’s death here since Danny Gans. I know about a dozen people who used to work for them; I’ve never heard a bad word about either of them. I was fortunate enough to work their act several times over the years tho never in one their showrooms; only when they did special appearances or guest spots on TV programs.

Indeed: they are both missed.
