Zelda Rubinstein, Tangina from Poltergeist, has passed away at age 76.
I always loved her small role in Sixteen Candles.
I was talking with my daughter this morning about what a great movie Poltergeist is, and how much it owes to Zelda.

I liked that she had a career that wasn’t based on her being a little person. She was just a character who happened to be small.

I **really **thought I had read she died a few years ago. Weird.
I remember her primarily for Picket Fences.

And it turns out that she was a wonderful human being too. She was an early advocate for HIV prevention and research, and her career took a hit as a result. This video makes me want to hug her.
