The Rise of Nations video game mentioned in todays article is not compatible with win 7; it’s compatability goes only to XP. The game supposed to help “older adults” with certain brain functions. Hopefully it will help them enough that they can upgrade their system to win 7 or upgrade to a Mac.
Any other suggestions for us old foggies?
Hmmm. I have Rise of Nations Gold, and it works with Vista.
‘Today’s article’ won’t be much use as an identifier when we move on to all our tomorrows.
Why pay more for an inferior Operating System? Most of my friends that own Macs spend most of their time dual-booting into Windows or running virtual machines. If you said a GNU/Linux based Operating System I might cede the point on moral grounds :p.
Rise of Nations is a pretty standard RTS (real-time strategy) game; there’s no shortage of those around. It’s not like it’s some special game scientifically designed to increase brain function or anything.
Starcraft II is another RTS that has recently come out, and it’ll run on Windows 7 (natch) as well as OS X. The only real difference is that it’s science-fiction themed, not history-themed.
