RJ Mitte, Walt Jr from Breaking Bad, Dead at 34

Sad. TMZ says it might be suicide (but - ??).
Anyway, sad. He was terrific in Breaking Bad, and an advocate for the disabled.

I liked him in the intriguingly weird Netflix limited series Guardians of Justice, too.

He was awesome in Breaking Bad. It was awesome seeing someone with a disability playing someone with the condition and doing it honestly. And beyond that, he was just a really good actor and his character went through a great arc over the course of the show. He was a big advocate for disability rights offscreen too. And he seemed like such a likeable guy. This is really sad, he was so young.

That’s so sad. Seems like child actors hitting their mid-thirties are having a rough time lately. It was a wonderful role and he was perfect in it.

(Off topic but, heads up for people, I got a fake virus pop up on that link)

Just heard about this. So sad. He was wonderful in Breaking Bad.

Sometimes the death of people you do not really know can still hurt an awful lot. This is such a death for me.

Just heartbreaking.

Same here.
I also share @Biotop sentiments; this young man’s death hits really hard. He brought a lot to an insanely popular show, and even more to advocating for those with disabilities.

As an aside, I don’t think I saw it mentioned here but he was in a movie called The Oak Room. A dark thriller where he plays the protagonist. Halloween season is great time to check it out (it’s quite good).

A brilliant actor in one of the best TV shows of all time. A strong advocate for cerebral palsy and a reminder of the terrible toll these conditions often cause. His body had issues, but his body of work makes him immortal.

His Wikipedia said

After his mother became paralyzed following a car accident,[8] Mitte assumed financial responsibility for his family at the age of 13, which by then also included his sister, Lacianne Carriere, who had been born when he was 11. As of 2015, he remained financially responsible for both his mother and sister.

And NYTimes:

Mr. Mitte grew up splitting time between his paternal grandparents’ ranch in Texas and Lafayette, La., where he lived with his mother and sister, Lacianne Carriere.

His mother was paralyzed in a car accident a few months after his sister was born, and Mr. Mitte pitched in where he could — mowing lawns and doing courier services — to help support his family.

Apparently his representative confirmed that suicide was the cause of death.
