RL historical figures you'd like to see on "Doctor Who"

The Doctor meets Douglas Adams, takes him to Milliways for a quick bite of the Dish of the Day, and we find out that the Hitchhiker’s Guide novel was actually a non-fiction book masquerading as Science Fiction…

The Doctor finds out the real truth behind the legendary and infamous “Vlad The Impaler”, Vlad Tepesh

The Doctor meets up with P.G. Wodehouse

Been there, done that.

I like the Tesla idea, but it seems like something Torchwood would be involved in.

Astrid: This Christmas thing? What’s it about?
The Doctor: Long story. I should know. I was there. I got the last room.

Guy Fawkes. Turns out trying to blow up Parliament was the Doctor’s idea.

Would Edgar Allan Poe be a too obvious choice?
And what about Rasputin?

I think that would work best if we didn’t see Hitler. Heck, I wonder if it would be possible to pull it off without revealing it had anything to do with Nazis. It could be a case of the companion wanting to help the people out, but the Doctor not wanting to mess up history. Only at the end would they realize they were Nazis, and that helping out could have ruined the world.

I’m all about the twist endings like that.

There are craploads of novels (non-canonical but officially licensed) that cover this idea a few times. I’m sure there must be a Whovian geek around here who could supply us with some lowdown.

Not likely to happen now. The queen was able to recognize him on site, and the Doctor will have a new face soon. But there is a throwaway line in the next episode.

I’d love an episode where the Doctor and his companion step out of the TARDIS roundabouts the year 0 in northern Israel. The Doctor looks up, sees a man on a hillside preaching to a small group of followers, and says, “Nope, back in the TARDIS, we’re skipping this one.”
