Roald Dahl Short Story

That was one of the wisest purchases you’ve ever made. I still have my paperback copy from 20 years ago and it’s still one of my most cherished books.

Don’t feel like you have to read it cover-to-cover in order. Pick an interesting title from the table of contents and just read. Then do it again.

My favorites? The Visitor, Genesis and Catastrophe, and Royal Jelly.

It was the only book I had with me when I ended up in a rural Thai hospital, alone and pretty sick, for 3 days. It got me through those days and, unlike most books that I read traveling, I kept that one.

Okay , will look it up again. Thanks

And he was part of a British spy ring in Washington during WW II.

I finished my other book so I start reading it tonight.

Yeah, it’s worth a re-read.

A recent book about that: Amazon.com

Just want to say I read The Best of Roald Dahl. Very enjoyable. It’s a keeper to pull out in a couple of years and reread.

I love his short stories, and I also love the children’s book Danny, the Champion of the World. I liked it better than either of the “Charlie” books. I must have read it six or seven times when I was a kid.

I was a huge Roald Dahl fan as a kid. When I got into my teen years and started reading his short stories, I better understood why I liked the kids books so well. The man was a complete sicko, and I mean that in the nicest way possible. :stuck_out_tongue:

I LOVE Danny, the Champion of the World! It’s my favorite of his kids’ novels. It is just so beautiful.
