Robert Forster has died

Robert Forster, who appeared in over 100 films, has died after a brief battle with brain cancer. He was 78.

He was so great in *Jackie Brown *. :frowning:

It would appear that my first exposure to Forster was his first role in Reflections in a Golden Eye (1967) - IMDb
(Reflections in a Golden Eye (1967)) and that was a memorable role for him.

My all-time favorite single film performance by an actor, ever; it was a masterpiece.

RIP Mr. Forster; you done amazing.

That’s sad news. I liked him in many roles.

I know him from Jackie Brown and Breaking Bad. He was great in both.

He was great in Jackie Brown and I also like him a lot as Gumshoe in Once a Hero.

Yep. He owned the heck out of that role.

He first impressed me in a made-for-TV flick called “The Death Squad”, which suffered for being aired just after a similarly themed Dirty Harry movie came out.

RIP.

First thing I saw him in was the short-lived ONCE A HERO, where — well, look, if you’ve seen him in anything, you can already picture him as a ‘40s-style private eye, right? So he’s probably wearing a trenchcoat, and he probably sounds unimpressed as he explains what’s probably going on, and he probably has a gun at the ready since long experience tells him that’s probably the answer?

Even as a stock character, he was perfect.

Oh, that guy.

He’s in one episode of Breaking Bad and the new BB movie. Same role if IMDb is right. He helped Walt hide out, IIRC.

Played the older dad in several recent shows.

I forget he was in Medium Cool, another great role.

I remember him from many things, but Heroes on NBC was the first thing that popped in my mind.

When he showed up in *Breaking Bad * as the mysterious figure who we’d heard about but had never seen I literally yelled at the TV “HOLY SHIT IT’S ROBERT FORSTER!”

(“Yes, dear. Sit down.”)

RIP

Now I want Jackie Brown for Christmas. :frowning:

RIP, Robert.

Apparently he was a super genius, who knew.

Yes, but surely it was more than one episode?

RIP, Bob. :frowning:

I’m watching Jackie Brown on Netflix, and damn, Mr. Forster is holding his own (in his stolid way) against Samuel L. Jackson’s more flamboyant/hip performance.

Cool stuff.

I’m getting the impression that Robert Forster is the kind of actor we probably should’ve seen more of.

He was the ultimate “I’m not acting” actor. He always seemed completely natural and unforced. What a loss this is.

RIP. He made every movie he was in better. Even in small parts, like Lucky Number Slevin.
