I went and saw it last weekend, and meant to post this here, but the thread had dropped off…
One cool, but very brief, thing I noticed was this:
For about the first 2/3 of the movie, when Robocop is going against his programming and trying to solve his own murder, each time he accesses the data on himself, the photograph is of Murphy, in his dress blues.
The last time he does it, though, near the climax, when he pulls up the police file for the murder of Murphy, the photograph associated with it in his head is a photo of Robocop–not the human Murphy. It’s really quick: onscreen for maybe a second. But I thought it was a neat little nod to the character’s acceptance of himself as what he’d become.
I enjoyed it, but, in my Four Word Movie Review: “He’s no Peter Weller.”
