Rockland, MD Library: It's fucking awesome!

Really. Just went to the new library today. I… I don’t know what to say. I nearly wept with joy. Huge, modern, light, airy and roomy with comfortable chairs. BTW, of all of the libraries in Montgomery County, only the Bethesda branch has slightly more comfortable chairs. I checked all of the branches in a single day about 6 months ago. Some may laugh at my quest, I know. The fools!

It’s across from the Rockville Metro stop, if that’s how you get around.

But wait! The library news, it gets better! Santa has me on his “nice” list no doubt: the new Germantown library is scheduled to open on or about 21-Dec. Let the new library shootout begin!

Glad you found a good one.
The trend in my area is the reverse. The San Francisco remodeled library opened after many years and millions of dollars with much fanfare. But it was now all grand staircases and sweeping galleries, and vast computer rooms. But the same old books only they had less room for them than before so they culled the collection. I nearly wept.

Man, I spent so much time in the public library in Rockville as a kid! I am a reading fanatic and that place is surely the reason why.
