You’ve convinced me…well, actually, I listened to it again and I’d like to change my vote. Although, I’m not sure I agree with the last part of your comment. Monkey Man and Midnight Rambler are clearly superior, despite what this venerated board thinks.

Not sure how others see it, but I have heard songs like Jumpin Jack Flash and Honky Tonk Woman a million times in nearly 40 years. So when either of those songs on the radio, I think to myself "oh boy, 1,000,001 time that I have heard JJF. " OTOH, when I hear Monkey Man, Bitch or especially Can’t You Hear Me Knocking, I think turn it up.
Course I have been listening to Satisfaction for quite literally 43 years, but it is a great and groundbreaking song.

Tripe??? Jeezus, not that “Gimme Shelter” isn’t awesome, but JJF is one of thee definitive Stones songs. And yet you’re convincing people to change their votes. Who knew it was this easy? Okay, everybody! write-in votes for “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking”! You know it makes sense!
Hey, hey now. I really like Gimme Shelter and I primarily voted for JJF because well, I like it too, but I’m also distraught IRT my own losses. My vote change is from the heart. Sorry.
As a consolation, I’d be happy to write-in vote Can’t You Hear Me Knockin’ if you write-in Monkey Man.
Deal. “Monkey Man” vs. “She’s a Rainbow” was the only hard choice for me in the first round, but it was really, really hard. Being a major Satanic Majesties freak (as well as a psychedelic relic) I eventually had to go with “Rainbow.” But it hurt. Like being gouged and being gored.
