According to my newspaper today (sorry no link) Ronaldo did it because his son mistook him for Roberto Carlos on the tele.
Thanks Philosophocles for riminding me of the fabulous Valderama, who always looked like he was struggling to remain dignified despite his hair.
But he looks the same from the front, hawthorne . And from behind they have that crazy different numbered shirt thing going on.
As someone siad on the teevee the other day; if you can’t tell the difference, the guy using rope for dental floss is Ronaldo.

Roberto Carlos was the (only slightly) oversized prototype for Mini-Me.
If Ronaldo’s hair is indeed modelled on a neatly trimmed female pubic triangle, his face gives a new meaning to the myth of Vagina Dentata…

Gee, if he grows out those bangs a little, he’ll have the same haircut that I do !
Eh…he (Ronaldo) is/was a cutie, but certainly he needs another haircut!

**It’d be an interesting psychological study. I mean, you have dozens of people walking around with this stupid hair cut, knowing it’s a stupid hair cut, yet announcing that they love it and it’s cool. and you’ve got everyone else thinking it’s a stupid hair cut, but saying “No, it looks GREAT!!” An entire society putting up with crappy hair cuts in the name of soccer. MAN professional sports are so cool. **
Wasn’t that the life story of the mullet?

Gives real meaning to the term “Brazilian Bikini Wax!”
Ronaldo’s a cutie? On what planet?
Brazilians make fun of how ugly their players are!

Actually, when it grows out, surely it’ll be more like a reverse mullet. Now there’s an image.
Its a reverse Sven Goran Ericsson.

This type of haircut is old news, check out the pics of Jonah Lomu .
But would anyone tell him he looks stupid?

According to a Brazilian Website (sorry, I’m not sure anymore but I think it was UOL), he got the haircut because his little son (I think he’s three) ran up to the TV and kissed the screen yelling ‘Daddy! Daddy!’, when in truth it was a shot of Roberto Carlos taking a free kick. Since they both have a shaved head I can imagine this actually causing confusion for a three year old.
So, to make sure his little tyke doen’t smooch anymore pictures of Roberto Carlos, Ronaldo decided to make his scalp a little more ‘distinctive’.
