Oh, for the love of jeebus. Rooves, I’m not telling you how to act. I’m just trying to do you a favor by pointing out that some of your actions are perhaps not in your best interests. If you want to proceed anyway, go right ahead. Go right on and do stuff the mods have specifically told you not to do. Be beligerent and insulting when a simple, polite explanation would probably serve you better. I think it’s a pretty bad idea, but it’s certainly no skin off my ass.
Pulling back and looking at the bigger picture is a useful tool indeed, and a lot of us use it when forming opinions of other posters. If you form a pattern of churlish, or childish, or antagonistic, or whiny posts, that doesn’t paint a terribly flattering big picture of you. Like it or not, the posts of those with unflattering big pictures tend to get bashed. It’s an ugly fact of life around here. I’ve seen it get to the point where someone couldn’t post a comment about the weather without it turning into a freakin’ pile-on, and it ain’t pretty.
Also, the mods tend to show a little less leniency with those who have been recently warned, as well as those with patterns of antagonistic posts. You’ve got two mod warnings in the pretty recent past still working against you, and it might be a good idea to tread lightly for a while. Like I said before, though, no skin off my ass either way.
For the record, the quality I respect most is honesty. You know, the honesty to say, “Fuck you, bitch. Nobody asked for your input,” or “I’d change your screenname to something insulting, but it would probably get me banned.” I wouldn’t care much for the personality behind such posts, but I could at least respect the honesty inherent in them. Pretending that you’re just not insulting me because you’re too big a person, well, I’m just not going there.
