I’m looking at replacing/updating my almost 10 year old router. Will doing so involve changing my network password? Is the replacement a simple process?
Tim, in order to answer your question, there are other questions that have to be answered. What kind of router do you currently have? Is it a home network or a domain network? I could make assumptions, but I prefer not to.
I just replaced my home WiFi router with a Netgear and it took maybe 5 minutes to set up. I ended up with a new network password, but I could have changed it to whatever I wanted.
you want to go into your router setup and go through all the settings and write them down. this will aid in getting your replacement router set up the same way.
unless you went with the standard (default) setup on the old router, except for password, and then you might chance that the standard (default) setup would be the same.
