Rubik's new 360 puzzle

I just bought this about 3 hours ago, hoping that it would be fun to work on during my vacation coming in a couple weeks.
About 1 hour ago, it’s solved. Man, what a bummer. Sure, I’m good at puzzles, but I ain’t even close to Mensa in brainiage stuff & other thinkages… this is not Albert Einstein checking in.
It reminds me of Rubik’s Magic, which was very easy to solve.
If you’ve never heard of the V-Cube 7, that’s the best puzzle out now. I’ve solved it maybe 5 times now, and still don’t really have a grasp of the weird things that happen with the edges (parity).
Good puzzles take time to solve. This one doesn’t. Thumbs down to the Rubik 360. Sigh.

Eh, the Rubik’s Magic is easy to solve once you figure it out (I can do it behind my back, in two completely different ways), but the real fun of it isn’t in the solution itself, but in all of the wacky shapes that you can make it into. It’s more of an open-ended toy than it is a puzzle or game.

Well, maybe so, but this one isn’t open-ended. The Rubik Snake (or whatever it’s called), is like what you’re describing, but these are not much fun for me.
Thanks for responding, though.

I’m surprised that there is so little interest in this new Rubik puzzle here.
There was a lot of hype about it earlier this year, and I would’ve thought many Dopers would be looking forward to it (and possibly dissappointed).
Maybe some people love it?

From what I saw in the demo video, it looks a lot like any number of other long-established puzzles: Roll the marbles around inside to get them into the goals. There’s nothing particularly clever or innovative about that… Good old Erno is losing his edge, methinks.
