This is why I find it wise not to pontificate on subjects I know fuck all about. :stuck_out_tongue:

As to the Indians, they beat us one out of three this summer and they saved the First Test only through a kindly piece of umpiring (Panesar should have been given an lbw decision that would have claimed the last wicket) followed by the rain closing in and wiping out the last couple of hours. It’s about twenty years since the previous time they won a series here. We generally hold our own or better with South Africa and New Zealand, we beat Pakistan last time they were over here… in fact, only Australia regularly beat us these days, and at that, we were mighty close to tying up the Ashes series in the Second Test before we tried extra-hard to lose it (after that it was downhill all the way, sadly).

Our football team sucks donkey cock, admittedly. Our top club sides may be a match for most sides in the world but precious few of the top players are English,so there’s not much in the well when the time comes to pick the national side.

Flanders and Swann explained it best:

Which is why Eriksson wasn’t a good England coach, he had sod all to pick from.

Since his move to Manchester City he’s been able to scour the world for good players, he is not limited to English players.

Go City!!!

Oh dear. It’s worse than I thought. :stuck_out_tongue:
