I am not a Rush-Head, but my friends that are can be rabid, so I get the obsession and the need to know about these things!

Hey, thanks for the heads up, that’s awesome. I can only imagine there will be at least one, “oh, I thought it was the other Rush” joke.
YES!!! Holy crap man thanks for the heads up. I never would have known, as I don’t watch the show. I’m writing myself a note right now to DVR it.
There’s another Rush?
Oh, you were referring to Rusty LimbAUGH!!!
This is why I never give Limbaugh the compliment of just being called “Rush”. I’ve had people get the wrong idea, and even as a conservative, I don’t want that kind of association.
There’s a reason why one of their instrumentals is called Limbo.
Rush… Limbo…
Did anyone see this? Great performance, but cutting to a commercial in the middle of “Tom Sawyer” was absolute bullshit!
I preferred hearing them interviewed for a few minutes than to lost the talk so I could hear that song in its entirety. But I’m sure it was really cool to be in the studio audience that day.
Besides, it was part of a preestablished gag about Rush songs being long (“Have you ever recorded a song so epic that by the end of it you’re already being influenced by the work yourselves were doing during the period in which you started it?”) including their still being at it at the end of the break and through Colbert signing off the show.
Besides, it’s also a little jab at all the bands who’ve done abbreviated “TV versions” of their hits to fit TV time (and probably dropping a hint as to why they had not made such an appearance in American TV? Hmmm…).
Wow, Alex Lifeson has quite a comb-over going on there these days.
Yeah, I get the joke…which is ironic because “Tom Sawyer” is one of their shortest songs! Now, if they had launched into “Hemispheres” or something…
I dunno, I just don’t like Colbert. He’s such an insufferable ass.
You know it’s an act right?
Of course. But that doesn’t make him any less annoying.
…and why am I getting Google ads for traffic school?
The joke continued into tonight’s episode- apparently, it took them 24 hours to finish the song.
Crap, I knew I should have tuned in tonight to see if there were any lingering Rush jokes. I’ll have to watch the rerun tomorrow.
Did you notice that after all that build-up about Neil Peart’s drum kit, he hardly touched any of the extra drums?
No, he did, but the camera’s just aren’t quick enough to pick up his movements.
So it is an addiction!
I thought it was named after Geddy’s dog, Limbo.
