Rush, YYZ: How did I not know this?

As a big Rush fan I of course know the instrumental song from the album Moving Pictures. I even knew that they incorporated the morse code for the letters YYZ throughout the song.

So how did I not know until this moment that YYZ is the airport designation for Toronto Pearson International Airport? It all becomes clear now.

Canadian airport codes are not as intuitive as the US ones

What, you mean it isn’t immediately obvious to you that YUL is Montreal(Dorval), YMX is Montreal (Mirabel) and YYG is Charlottetown?

A few make a bit more sense, but Toronto Pearson isn’t one of them.

YYC - Calgary, YVR - Vancouver, YOW - Ottawa.

I guess I figured that the song was named that because they liked the rhythm of the morse code. Never occurred to me that there was another meaning to the title.
