I’ve seen this on the net and have got to wonder whether it’s real. It’s very graphic yet seems professionally done, so I can’t tell whether it’s real or not. Anyone know?
Got a link? Or even just a few more details?
Are you talking about the one from 1996, or is there a new one?

Advertising in space–cool list.

Japanese drink “Pocari Sweat” (yeah that’s its name in English - and they’re trying to market it as “sweat” to English speakers!!) filmed their ad in space.
I believe it was supposed to be the first ever, so it might have beaten Pepsi into the stratosphere.
Pocari Sweat isn’t fizzy, contains no artificials, and tastes vaguely like weak grapefruit juice. Amazingly it’s about their second biggest selling drink (after green tea?)
I don’t want to provide a link because the video is pornographic. A Limewire search should produce the video.
So, you’re saying that there’s a supposedly pornographic Russian Pepsi commercial out there, and we can search for it on Limewire and download it if we have Gnutella, and we can watch it, and then we can discuss whether it’s an authentic Pepsi commercial?
What even makes you think it’s authentic, in the first place? Like, why would Pepsi even make a pornographic commercial, let alone one in Russian?
And, since all Russian TV stations are now owned by the government, why would they allow pornographic commercials to run?

An Israeli milk company also did a commercial in outer space. Guinness World Records, Ltd. says they were the first to do so.
Well DDG Pepsi has been in Russia for a while even before the wall came down in fact. Has a really cool can with Pepsi in english on one side and the phonetic spelling in cryllic on the other.
They were (at the time I was there 1999) losing money from Coca Cola products because pepsi had been around so long it was no longer considered American or cool any longer. So russian Pepsi ads I can see.
Of course in 99 while I was there Pornography was highly frowned upon Nothing like italy (where I was in 97) where nudity was more accepted.
I just cant invision Russians being so much more open to such a concept as a TV ad.
Sure they had hookers in every hotel but TV was pretty mild.
Hope someone else can shed some light on this.
