Well the Tea Party is correct. There isn’t really a big difference between NAZIs and Communists and Progressives.
All three are far-left ideologues.

I’m guessing there are not a lot of history professors in the Tea Party, because of course none of the three groups would agree with each other (or with this statement).
Did we supply any ships to Russia during World War II?
Not surprising. If Democrats have yet to figure out that islands don’t capsize and Brooklyn wasn’t enslaved by the Dutch in 1898 - I think you’re asking alot for them to be able to identify US vs. Russian warships.
Yes. Frigates, minesweepers, icebreakers, cargo ships and patrol craft.
LOL
Actually, Russia is full of Commies – they’re second-largest political party in Russia, and the principal opposition to Putin and his party and government. And probably will remain so for the rest of Putin’s life. Lucky, lucky Putin!
So, there really is a very thin line between a ship being part of the US navy and a ship being part of the Russian navy.
Nazis were far-left liberals. Hitler and Stalin were like twins separated at birth!:smack:
Well you may :smack:, but it’s not hard to find boards/sites on the Intertubes where some asstards are spouting exactly that nonsense repeatedly and seriously – at least, to all appearances.
So Einstein (very famous liberal progressive) was a Nazi? Who knew?
Actually, moonshot, there’s a pretty thick line between the modern Democratic Party and modern progressivism, defining the latter as something well to the left of “liberal” and well to the right of “socialist” and more or less equivalent to what in Europe is known as “social-democratic” – see this old GD thread of mine. Of course, “progressive” has had at least two other and very different meanings in American politics in the last 100 years, and at mid-century it did pretty much mean Comsymp, which might have baffled a Progressive like Teddy Roosevelt. But nowadays, “progressive” means the politics of the Working Families Party and the Vermont Progressive Party – left-liberal/social-democratic, but not socialist, and certainly not Communist.
That’s the Kerch.
The SA-N-3 launcher in the DNC photo is a dead giveaway.
Actually, after checking on wiki, it turns out the Democrats did use a picture of a ship (Kerch) which was in the Black Sea at the time the cruiser got rammed. I have no comment on the rest of the content of the thread, but I do think it’s amusing the Democrats showed a picture of a ship of their constituent’s enemies to them. Ignorance fought!
OK, this has been annoying me for a while – it may be “pretty easy” for someone interested in and familiar with naval vessels. An average layman would be hard pressed to even know what the heck was that up on the screen save that it was naval and military.
As a valid critique of those responsible, I don’t know about the rest of y’all, but if the DNC or RNC asked me “gimme some stock pictures of modern naval power” I would have figured out by myself they meant stock pictures of American naval power and tried to make sure. BUT that’s just me. The people at the supplier of stock pictures, and the guys who selected the pictures to put on the big screen, are apparently folks who could not tell you a *Neustrashimyy *from a *Spruance *or an F5 from an F18 because they have no idea what any of them are supposed to look like in the first place, and most lamely they did not bother ringing up the Admiral to ask "look at what’s going to be your backdrop: any issues with that?". To them it was "generic naval vessel’ and “generic fighter jet”.
Oh, no not this again.
All you’re doing is redefining “left” to suit you. It’s the classic “liberal = anything I don’t like” definition.
It’s pointless anyway, since now anyone can do it.
Can’t it be a fashion choice, not a political conviction? Those striped telnyashkas that the Russians wear are so much cooler looking than our navy’s stupid white t-shirts.
The DNC made a mistake on their tribute to veterans and displayed an improper image.
I don’t recall the tributes to vets portion of the Republican National Convention. Does anyone have a link to it so we can nit pick it?
It was the segment introduced by former President George W. Bush (43). I’ll look and see if I still have it recorded.
I KNEW IT! Moonshot is INDEED soon-to-be-former US Rep Allen West. Allen baby, after Patrick Murphy kicks your hiney out of office this November, are you joining Fox News or are you going straight to the new Glenn Beck/‘The Blaze’ Dish TV channel?
