They are planning something quite different than some American “reality TV” Survivor bullshit. This one claims that a new show based in Siberia during the Winter is the real deal.
*"A new Russian reality show where crimes are “allowed” will begin next year.
Game2: Winter will strand 30 contestants in the -104F (-40C) Siberian wilderness for nine months with the surviving winner receiving a $1.6m prize. It will stream 24/7 online."*
Of course, the article describing it is misleading in several ways. Crimes aren’t exactly allowed (but they aren’t going to go out of their way to prevent them either). Contestants that commit them will be prosecuted and won’t win of course. Also, -40C is nowhere near -104F (they are coincidentally the same at -40 and even Siberia doesn’t get down to -104F).
However, it does sound like an elaborate and odd premise for a show if even some of it is right. It will be interesting to see if they really make it.
Yeah I’m calling bullshit on this one. Firstly, there’s nothing about this Russian IT-millionaire Yevgeny Pyatkovsky online except articles about the show that only reference one Siberian Times article.
Bullshit.
By that same logic fighting, alcohol, murder, rape, smoking, anything is also allowed on Family Feud but the police are free to arrest you.
I am just appalled that they claim they are going to allow explicit smoking on TV. I haven’t seen that in a while. I am not sure I will let my daughters watch it unless that part is censored.
OTOH, all American “reality shows” are way too scripted and posh behind the scenes including the survival shows (I am looking at you Bear Grylls). It is time to crank things up a few notches and make a real Survivor show with a true dose of reality. I doubt that they will do it but it will be interesting if they do. They would be idiot volunteers after all and I am sure there are more than a few that would happily participate.
