Possibly, if you take his quote out of context as you just did. But even then, there is no reason you have to extrapolate his statement beyond the issue actually being discussed. As it is, though, he was explicitly responding to this particular instance if you look at the preceding sentence in his post:

“I think it would be a ridiculous move. We’ve got the majority in the Senate - use it.”

Where “it” = “Suppose Ginsburg dies and Trump nominates Garland as her replacement.”

But that ignores why we’re even discussing Merrick Garland.

I do not know what the rules are. There have been justices who have been diminished far, far worse than Ginsburg has been who continued on the bench. That meant other justices and the US senate were content to let that be.

If you think that is wrong that is fine. You can make an argument that old judges should be removed or impaired judges should be removed. I might even agree with you.

But as it stands there is no mechanism to do that. Never has been. (Of course impeachment is always on the table but that is to remove anyone as opposed to removing someone for the specific reason of being impaired.)
