Rutland Weekend Telecom (UK Village establishes own Broadband network)

The British village of Rutland have raised nearly 40,000 quid and set up their own broadband network because British Telecom wouldn’t do it for then, according to this interesting story from the BBC.

I don’t really have much to add to the story other than to say it’s pretty cool that they’ve done this, and good on them for taking the initiative to solve a community problem in a unique way!

I hope Eric Idle will support their endeavour.

Rutland is not a village it’s a county. The village is actually called Lyddington.

Birthplace of the super group The Ruttles.
