Rzorsharp's Gonna Cry...

I disagree, rjung. While Brutus may be spectacularly wrong and ill-informed on every political subject on which he’s offered a viewpoint, he is still with some regularity clever and witty on other subjects. Just today he posted something quite humorous that gave me a genuine chuckle.

I can say with confidence that Razorsharp, by contrast, has never made me laugh honestly at a deliberate witticism. Doesn’t mean I haven’t laughed at him for other reasons, of course.

Sounds almost like you’re agreeing with me there, Cervaise.

Believe me, I pointed that out to Buckner in an e-mail.

Did you notice the two examples that Buckner gave of my previous warnings?

The first was for a response to Zoe for about three consectutive posts accusing me of plagarism. To which Gaudere responded to my complaint with this: “It is acceptable to call someone a plagarist in GD,”.

Oh really, repeatedly acccusing a poster of plagarism is acceptable in GD? Hell, that sounds like a personal attack to me. I bet that if I repeatedly accused John Mace of fondling little boys, that would be considered a personal attack.

The second example of me violating the decorum of GD, was my response, “speaking of dumbasses”, to jjimm’s post: "Indeed, if I were Kerry and asked this question I would reply "Are you a dumbass or something?"

And, Cervaise, if you are looking for the comical, look no further than the Dopers that love making snide remarks to their ideological advesaries, but when they get one in return, they whine and stomp their feet like a little girl that didn’t get the doll she wanted for her birthday.

I like how he equated pedophelia with plagarism.

Razorsharp -

You do realize a fair few would like to bait you into doing something ban-worthy, do you not?

I’m just saying.

Shodan

What was the quote?

Never try to kill a man who is in the process of committing suicide?

Well, it often surprises me that the “values” that most of our conservative posters espouse and laud, and claim that liberals are destroying, don’t include common courtesy and the value of civil discourse. (My apologies to those decent exceptions to that generalization who may feel injured by it; the condemnation is not directed at you.)

As for the “plagiarism” comment, we have had, over the years, a substantial group of posters – and I believe I can safely and accurately use the word “trolls” of those people – who came on this board reprinting something from a blog or columnist that they did not themselves in fact write. It struck me at the time that an inordinate number of them were in Hallowe’en dress-up as Ann Coulter or Charles Krauthammer – the idea of a Charles Krauthammer sock puppet strikes me as a particularly bizarre visual, by the way.

Our esteemed Razorsharp’s first few posts were, IIRC, reprints from his website/blog. (I ask him for correction on this; I know some of them were, but whether all of his earliest OPs were is something I’m not prepared to argue.)

It was a reasonable assumption, given the previous plethora of pretended publicists plagiarizing pontificating pundits, that Razorsharp was the latest in this line of cleverly costumed infrapontensians. In point of fact, he was the actual original author of what it was presumed he was plagiarizing.

But if the real Bill Clinton or Ann Coulter decided to join this board and claim to have written or said what it is known that they wrote or said, they could expect to go through the same sort of accusation, pending demonstration to the staff that they were actually the persons who had originally written/said what they claimed to have written/said.

In short, Razorsharp, I feel little pity for your complaint of having been unjustly accused of plagiarism – as with any other allegation made on this board, the burden of proof is on the claimant that what he/she claims is in fact accurate. That would include a claim to the original authorship of something available to the public at large on the Internet. Your bona fides have been established; while I disagree vehemently with a lot of your stances, you are who claim to be.

But given the past history here, I don’t think you have a leg to stand on in feeling sorry for yourself about the accusations.

First off, I never complained until some whimpering liberal whined about me making a personal attack, which, ironically, was the same pinhead accusing me of plagarism.

No, you got it bass-ackwards. In the instance of someone accusing another of plagarism, the burden of proof falls on the accuser. And in the instance of Zoe’s continued accusation, this was about nine months after the establishment of my, as you say, bona fides.

Look, I ain’t never felt sorry for myself over petty accusations from the inconsequential, and for you to even suggest so is your way of making a snide remark in my direction.

Here’s the deal… you (and I’m not just addressing Polycarp in particular) make a snide remark to me, you get one back, in spades.

Then if you go running and whinning to a moderator, you reveal yourself to be a limp-dick liberal. And liberal’s make my skin crawl.

Oh, I have encountered that underhanded tactic many times before, in many venues other than SDMB. It’s endemic.

Thanks

Oh, fuck off.

 :wally

They both start with “p”.

Sure you can. You just can’t say it here.

The Only Consistent Feature of All of Your Dissatisfying Relationships is You

Enjoy,

Blatant misuse of apostrophes makes my skin crawl!

Is that all you’ve got, a nitpik?
(See what I mean about “inconsequentials”?)

You’re the very definition of the word.

No, that’s not all I’ve got; it just seemed like a good place to start. What really makes my skin crawl is people who will paint everyone belonging to a large group with one broad brush. It’s intolerant assholes like you who give conservatives like me a bad name. :wally

And evidently a good place to finish too.

I’ll give you another chance to start over. Give me a list of some of the things that you find that I am intolerant of. Here, I’ll help you out by starting:

Blatant hypocrisy
Welfare broodmares
Those who play the racecard
A “free press” that attempts to influence an election
An entertainment media that attempts to brainwash the populace

There, that should be a pretty good start for you.
(BTW: nice smilie, what are you, in the fifth grade?)

Now I understand the high post count. Posts that are nothing more than the equilivant of E-grafitti. Hey, at least you could come up with your own retorts.

I gotta tell you’all, for my first real experience here in the Pit, it’s, how shall I put this… not all it was cracked up to be.

Gosh, you’re not goin’ to out me, are ya?

BTW: The “Wake up America” webpage, I ain’t got nuthin’ to do with that. Whoever’s site that is, purloined the essay.
