S.W.A.T. (70s show)

I’m rewatching the first ep. The show’s actually pretty good. And its always fun to see 70’s character guest stars like (I’m not gonna look up the names. Thats no fun):

“Juliette Lewis’s Dad”
“The Most Craggy Red-headed cop you’ll ever see” Not Steve Forrest…another guy.
Annette Somebody…strawberry blonde actress.

I’m really surprised this show only lasted 1 1/2 seasons as compared to The Rookies or Charlies Angels. The Rookies and Charlies Angels didn’t get their theme song on the radio!! Very colorful group of regulars. Action-packed. What’s not to like?

I loved the episode of MTM where Mary is having a big party in her new apartment and a bored Ted says “Let me know when it’s ten o’clock. I want to watch SWAT.”*

*Actually, this was wrong. In Minneapolis, it was on at 9:00 PM (CST).

Always grooved on that phasing effect on the guitar in the theme song

It came out at the wrong time. There was a growing protest movement against violence on TV (this was back before we had video games to blame for all of society’s problems). SWAT became a focus for the protests.
