I am so sorry twickster. I still tear up when I think of my beloved pet that didn’t make the trip home from the vet with me after thirteen or fourteen years of companionship.
Please get a friend to drive, you won’t be able to.

Aw, twicks. I’m so so so sorry. Nothing is harder to do as a pet owner. It sounds like he had a remarkably long, happy life. My thoughts are with you.
Ditto.
My sympathies regarding your beloved Elvis. Thanks for sharing pictures of him. It’s heart-rending to say goodbye to longtime companion kitties.
Another seconds on the . But at least he had a long life and a peaceful death. And if the picture’s any indication, he had plenty of fun!
Aw, what a sweet boy.
twickster, my sympathies. I am facing that situation myself right now.
Twickster, what a beautiful kitty. My sympathy on his passing. You gave him a long good life; two decades is as good as it gets for our kitties.
My condolances to you.
I was thinking about you this morning ((((((twicks))))). I am sorry for you loss.
Now I need to go and find some more tissues

I was doing OK reading this thread until I looked at the photo of Elvis doing his best to protect his family from the menace of the Evil Toilet Paper Tube. Now I’m crying, too.
I’m so sorry to hear about your kitty. I still cry when I think of my dog that had to be put down a few years ago (rest in peace baby). The pain I felt was unbelievable, and the emotions were uncontrollable. It just goes to show how much love that we have for these animals.
Okay, I’m sobbing now. Stupid hormones.
Okay I see that everyone is crying.
(((((giant group hug))))))
Okay, this made me smile (as did Madd Maxx’s crack about the sideburns). Not only did he take care of any – and all – marauding ETPT’s he encountered, he also took his other job seriously: when I was working in the garden, his role was to keep an eye out for low-flying aircraft. Good at it? I’ll say – never so much as a close encounter when he was on the job.
Damn, this is sad – thanks so much for your sympathy, everyone, I’ve reread every post over and over, it means a lot.
