The smilies here on SDMB are great, and would like to get some similar ones for emails.
Googling resulted in a huge mess of sites, but none of them look safe enough to try. Many state, “No spyware,” which makes me even more suspcious. 
Anybody know a safe site for downloading these types of emoticons?
Many people who got email don’t like you adding such things that link to web sites. Some would beat you with a wet noodle, some would do worse.
I suggest using text smilies, well understood, doesn’t risk physical harm to yourself , and doesn’t piss anyone off.
I would do worse.
Avoid the emoticons.

I just higlighted them and saved them to my own pc. They’re saved as little JPEGS, and I add them to e-mails like I would any other JPEG. In that way, I avoid the -indeed very annoying- links to websites others mentioned.

I’ve got enough goofy friends who enjoy these silly things, and none of them have any noodles, so am safe.
