Sailing From LA to Hawaii Solo: How do you sleep?

Dont need answers fast.

Obviously, the sailor would need to sleep. Does he point his boat in the correct direction and autopilot? Does he drop anchor? Do other ships have to avoid him? What are the international protocols?

Self-steering systems are indeed popular on long-voyage sailboats.

Probably not, especially LA to Hawaii (essentially no shallow water - much of it 10,000 to 15,000 ft deep).
