i don’t think it’s a peculiarity of the American diet. I remember a thread on here about what people typically eat for breakfast around the world, and what I most recall is the huge number of countries that eat egg for breakfast. Then there were other proteins and lots of cereals like oats, rice and corn. Fruit was common too, but not typical salad vegetables.
Which… if you break my lately Summer, garden breakfast, down to the basics… you will see that it is Fruit, bread, and cheese, with allium, oil, and turned wine.
And lest I forget. Today they preach against salt. You must add salt to my combo, for the full electrolytic, and anaerobic, effect.
