Salt Water Enema: Myth or Fact?

I just heard that if one is in a situation where there is no fresh water around, a salt water enema is a solution to preventing death through dehydration. Is this true?

Just intuitively, wouldn’t it just make one more dehydrated, since it will draw water out of the cells in the large intestine. But then one of the principle functions of the large intestine is drawing fluid out of material. So it may work.

Any input.
