We just started a 20 gal. saltwater fish tank about a month ago. So far, so good. We have a bunch of live rock, snails, hermit crabs, a couple of cleaner shrimp, a clownfish and a chromis. This tank also happens to be in a room with a rollicking stereo. Without getting the meter, I’d guess it pushes 95-96 dB. What I’ve googled is mostly fanatical (typical of most dedicated boards, I find), and say it causes liver damage and other maladies. So far, our fish and inverts don’t seem to mind. Anybody have any practical advice? Thanks
Tiny waterproof earmuffs?
It’s prolly your choice of music. Pop music at any volume will only annoy them. To cause real damage, I’d suggest metal or hip-hop. Stay away from techno unless they are nocturnal fish. Avoid country and reggae at all costs.
Wait… what was the question again?
