same cast in dirty movies

The “adult” movies on Showtime and Cinemax seem to feature the same cast members over and over again, to the point that it seems that there are only about five guys and maybe eight to ten women. Does one company have some sort of contract with the cable companies? Do these actors and actresses own that company? Doesn’t anyone else make these movies anymore?

I am not a porn star, but I think alot of them are contracted to a studio, like the old Hollywood studio sytem. I’m not sure if the same companies that make hardcore porn also make the Skinemax type movies as well.

This reminds me, I think we should see more Ron Jeremy. Commercials, movies, public service anouncements…anything.

To shamelessly reference The Daily Show, you really don’t want to see Ron Jeremy endorsing non-dairy coffee creamer.

The money in soft-core flicks can’t be as good as in real porn. I figure that there are just a limited number of people who are willing to make their living by appearing in stroke films but are nonetheless not willing to do real porn.

I heard Ron Jeremy on an early morning radio show not too long ago (hilarious interview, by the way) and he said that softcore/hardcore versions are filmed at the same time, they just vary the camera angles. That may not hold true for all productions, but it makes sense.

The stuff on Skinemax is different from what you’re talking about; the OP is about the films featuring “simulated sex.” Skinemax doesn’t show movies in which people really have intercourse, blatant or not.
