Really make me** really** feel old at 60!!!
Cite?
I just saw the Eagles in concert, Don Henley is 70, Joe Walsh turns 70 next month. The last 3 concerts I attended also featured Paul McCartney (75), Steven Tyler (70 next March) and Blue Oyster Cult (3 members over 70). Also saw the Doobie Brothers, most of the members are rapidly approach 70.
Don’t forget Mick Jagger at 74, Keith Richards at 73, Roger Daltrey at 73, Pete Townshend at 72, Elton John at 70, and Ringo Starr at 77. For every rock star who dies too soon, it’s good to see how many septuagenerians there are who are still actively touring and recording music.
Wikipedia confirmed his overqualification for AARP.
No crap, you old geezer. You’re in the fast late doing 48 with your left blinker on the whole way. You miraculously didn’t total Van Halen, but I dare say you left it with some bumps and scratches when you left.
Get out of the way old man!

This post brought to you by an imagination fired up by the album ‘1984’.
Sammy collects Ferraris and other cool shit. He don’t drive no fuckin’ 55!
Mick Jagger and Ronnie Wood just had babies, too.
Wow. Mick’s great-granddaughter is two years older than his youngest daughter.
I didn’t realize they were a couple.

Huh, never thought Ronnie Wood swing that way.
I don’t think it has anything to do with Sammy’s birthday, but Rhino just put out deluxe reissues of *Montrose *and Paper Money. The bonus material includes a live set that was broadcast on KSAN back in the day–tasty stuff.
Dave lost his hairline
But you lost your cool, buddy
Can’t drive 55
And I’ll never buy your lousy records again
Ah man, Montrose is an album I still love tracks off of. I use I Don’t Want It’s groove to this day as a jam starter. If you haven’t played with people and are trying to feel them out, it’s effective - super-easy, infectious groove, but one not a lot of folks know, so while they get it, they don’t exactly know it, so they have to pay attention. Do they? You can feel out their musical communication skills. And if we dial it in, it puts a big smile on everyone’s face to kick off the jam. We finish with a random ending and someone invariably goes "What was that again? That was awesome!"
You can even kick it off again and from there you can start tossing in Funk #49 type lead fills.
Sammy’s livin the life. Talk about a rock and roll journeyman who ended up on the top of the world.
I can’t believe someone I thought was “cool” as a teenager is my mom’s age.
I’m still getting used to the future shock when I turn on the local classic rock station and they’re playing Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, or Alice in Chains.
Hence my edit.
I just saw him last week. He has Todd Rundgren playing guitar with him and Todd at 69 has more on-stage energy than I have ever had.
I’m glad someone got it!

It’s been awhile. Thank you for that.
