I’m taking the train out there on Tues., arriving on Wed. April 11th. My daughter informed me a few weeks ago that she’d never seen a frigging zebra, so I figured it was time to head to a real zoo.
We’ll be there (staying at La Pensione) from Wed.-Sat. in case any of you are around and want to meet for lunch/dinner/drinks/wrestling.

You know, I don’t think I ever responded to your email on hotels there. Very sorry. Hope you have a great time! Where is La Pensione? I think you said you won’t have a car while you’re there; I assume it’s close to the zoo? There’s a lot of great museums in Balboa Park, which is walking distance from the zoo. Hilcrest is the artsy area of town, which is also relatively close to the zoo. Of course you’ll have to check out the beach.
