Santa got a hold of my paycheck!

Yay for me! I just got an unexpected $250 bonus in my paycheck today. Next month, I will get my stock options and my first set of options will be fully vested! Hoorah!

Say what you will about Starbucks, but the benefits are awesome! Thanks, Howard!

That’s awesome! Congratulations!

We’re supposed to get our holiday bonuses (yeah right. It’s profit sharing), next week. But, the owner of the company I work for REALLY bad decision last year so we lost money. My bounus (profit sharing) will be VERY small. Oh well, it’s still money. Even if it’s only enough to buy one gift this year, I’m still ahead of where I am right now.

I should also get my ham next week. I can’t wait for that. The owner does know where to find good hams for his employees. Yum…10 pounds of spiral cut honey ham…Yum!

Ah, the joys of being a federal employee - no cash, no food, but if W is feeling generous, he might give us an additional half day off. Ho ho ho.

Hooray! We do not get XMas bonuses at my work. However, we do sometimes get yearly bonuses in May.

Enjoy your largess

I received my senility, erm, stability bonus yesterday.
They cut all raises of us- nothing until 2006- so any little bit was nice.
After five years of working for the county you get 2 1/2% of your yearly salary (capped at 17K). Every year thereafter they add an additional 1/2%. Due to my leaving and returning, I lost 2 years of senility pay, but a bonus of $300 was nice.

I hate all the taxes they take out on bonus pay. Then again, taxes pay for my job.

I got a whopping $25 bonus. After taxes, $23.09, hooray. Sure I’d rather have it than not have it, but seeing as how I work in the department that sends out everyone else’s bonuses so I know how much they average, I’m kind of disappointed. And for fuck’s sake, maybe make the bonuses, oh, $27 dollars or whatever so that post-tax they’re a full $25?

I get no bonuses either. And if Santa got hold of my paycheck, he took money away, instead of adding!

I have never received a Christmas bonus, and I’ve been in the workforce for 22 years.

Wal-Mart’s another much maligned company that gives you some nice perks and benefits. While it wasn’t a Christmas bonus, we did get yearly profit sharing checks independent of our normal pay period every March or so and the last one I got before being fired was for around $900, essentially an extra month’s pay for me, a cashier.

My friend is the payroll clerk and she played Santa this year. She asked if I get a tax refund every year. We do. So she made the first paycheck in December have no tax taken out. A tiny little wedge of our refund came in time to pay for Christmas. Happy happy me.
