I don’t know if this thread should be in Politics & Elections. Mods, move if desired.

Anyway, Sara Jane Moore died this week at the age of 95. I can remember the day she took a couple of shots at President Ford in 1975. Hard to think of that as fifty years ago, but it was.

She was 45 at the time, a five times divorced mother of four. Not your average radical. Apparently, she became obsessed with the Patty Hearst saga which was big news at the time.

As for Gerald Ford, I consider him the last Republican president who was a genuinely decent human being.

I was a kid when those happened, and was as shocked as anyone else that these were done by women.

I’ve come to the conclusion that almost always when a lone person takes up violent political action they have very little in the way of coherent political beliefs.
