Sarah Palin: I can beat Obama in 2012

I think she’s delusional to believe she can even make it through a presidential campaign. This is a woman who quit halfway through her first term as governor in order to cash in on her fame because she couldn’t handle all the criticism and ethics probes. She’s made no secret of the fact that she hates the “lamestream” media, and running for president would require her to give interviews to other media outlets besides Fox News. She would be ripped to shreds.

That’s a good bet to make. If she wins all you’d have to do is wait 2 months and then $1,000 will be equal to about $16 of today’s dollars.

Funny: I’m not afraid Obama will take my guns, I’m afraid I’ll need them following the anarchic collapse of the Republic should Palin becomes the POTUS.

Agreed, but once she’s asked again and lies about it/bungles the question, it’ll be news again…not to mention all the new crazy stuff she says.

If she gets the nomination, which I doubt, she’ll get the proper scrutiny a major party presidential candidate deserves. I think she’ll end up looking as luny as O’donell or that lady who couldn’t been Reed.

Yeah, she’ll run as a member of the Bull Dyke Party.

I don’t see her being the GOP nominee. May she will run as an independent.

Perhaps the Grisly Mom Party.

Look at the schedule… first is Iowa. Evangelicals are a big part of the primary vote, and Sarah’s (and Huckabee’s) base. I think she’s got a real chance to win that one. Then on to New Hampshire, where she has the built in excuse of Romney’s proximity to account for a likely loss. Then on to South Carolina, tailor made for her to whup ass. By that time Huckabee’s history and she gets the votes of everyone who can’t stomach voting for a Mormon. I think IF she wants it, she gets the nomination. But- I think she is unlikely to try. She knows Obama would clean her clock and her market value as a defeated nominee would be lower than it is today. It all depends what she craves more- the attention or the money. If it’s attention, she gets in. If it’s money, she keeps fleecing the rubes.

And more importantly, the votes of everyone who can’t stomach voting for the inventor of Obamacare.

This republican hopes that SP does NOT run for prez, while I did vote for Obama in the last election (the first time I had ever voted for a democrat), I’m not happy with his administration so far, if anyone OTHER than SP runs, I may vote for them as I don’t want to vote for Obama again, in the last election he was the lesser of the two evils

But there is NO WAY IN HELL I’d vote for that fundie religious fanatic nutbar Palin, I’d sooner vote for an inanimate carbon rod than for SP

Splutter

Mwahahahaha!

There’s no way she’ll even get the Republican nomination.

But she’s cunning, I’ll give her that. Her place is as a cheerleader for the Republicans, and even Diogenes will admit she does an excellent job at that. As such, she would be an excellent VP. But she’s got neither the brains nor the character to be President. And I think she realises that, so she’s laying down a marker for that VP slot.

Rod/Sammich in '12!

Thank you for this insightful and concise contribution to the discussion.

Can someone fill in my clueless self what the letters stand for?

Too long; didn’t read.

ETA: Hmmm, can’t get the link to work properly. Oh, well, try this.

TL;DR = Too Long; Didn’t Read.

Looking at the tl;dr in context now, the complaint is weird. It’s clearly being employed as a joke in this case.

Thank you for reminding me that all she’s good for is pissing on democratic ideals.

Let me get this straight: one of the Right’s biggest knocks against Obama was his lack of experience at the national level. So a half-term governer who last held office four years previously would be the most likely person to get the Republican nomination in '12? I really hope that does happen.

Seriously, though: my bet’s on her not running, for the same reason that we’ll never see Limbaugh, Hannity or O’Reilly running for office: why would any sane person give up the money, the controlled discussion environment and the complete lack of accountability?

And when it comes to money, I think Palin is extremely sane. So I don’t think it will happen. But saying it could may help drive her market price up. And I don’t think she minds the idea of being a mover and shaker in the least.

Those other guys don’t have her ability to play the victim card and (with the media’s whole hearted cooperation) turn every criticism (even imaginary ones) into nasty, vicious assaults on her gender and/or family.
