I don’t recall seeing, hearing or reading anyone claim that Palin’s graphic is “responsible” for this shooting. What we’re discussing is whether, amongst a vast amount of gun rhetoric coming from the Right, that graphic was irresponsible.

I googled Images: “target viewed through telescopic sight” and got 23900 hits in a very short time frame. Many of these hits simply showed long guns and pistols with a telescope mounted and not the actual view through the scope. Of those that did show the view of a target through a telescopic sight, I would guess easily 99% included cross hairs or reticules or what you will but they did not show what your cite showed. Since we were discussing the view shown on the infamous Palin target, I think my search term was valid. I have to admit that I didn’t google “target viewed through surveyor’s tools”. I will leave that for someone else.
