Sarah Palin's book

I’m still baffled at how someone who walked out on an executive job is now favored by some people for a much more high-pressure, high-stakes promotion. Could someone please explain to me how quitting the governorship doesn’t pretty much nullify any chance she has for any national nomination ever again? Are people that stupid?

All of this:

I agree with, wholeheartedly.

Because it shows she CARES about her state.

Palin’s celebrity was getting in the way of doing her job properly. Instead of staying on governor and doing a half-assed job, because she’s too busy fighting off her celebrity status.

For example if Palin said “As Alaska governor I need to devote 100% of my time to the job.” But if I’m so busy with being a celebrity I can only devote 80% of my time to it.

Well if I lived in Alaska I would want my governor, whoever it was to devote all their time to the job they were elected for."

Palin also is personable. When is the last time any Vice Presidental candidate got this much attention? Even the candidates that WON never got this much attention.

People like her and she’s personable.

Think about this, if Palin sits in a chair in Alaska and does an excellent job, so what? (We’ll assume for the sake of my argument she does do an excellent job).

So a state with some 700,000 people and ranks only ahead of Vermont and Wyoming is doing well, how is that benefiting the Republicans? It has no benefit to the party as a national thing. Alaska is going to vote Republican anyway so where is the benefit.

If Palin quits, which she does, she now draws crowds wherever she goes. This is a chance for the Republicans to get their agenda across and fundraisers too.

Now let’s think about this

We could have Palin as governor doing a good job and “Jane Doe,” giving speeches to groups of a few hundred trying to get a Republican point across.

Or we could have Palin now giving speeches to THOUSANDS of people and getting TV coverage and getting the Republican viewpoint over to many, many more.

So where is Palin more valuable?

I don’t like Palin’s viewpoints on poltics but she is very likable. She has proven herself to be able to draw crowds, and get her or the Republican message heard.

It’s incredible that today,in politics that only Mr Obama and to a lesser degree Sec of State Clinton could draw as big or bigger audiences.

Palin did the right thing by quitting. Right for Alaska, 'cause now they have someone in office spending all his time doing the job of governor with his complete attention. She did the right thing by the Republicans, by giving up a status job to help them promote their agenda more effectively, and she did right by herself as she can make a lot more money this way.

I can’t tell if that was a joke. I’ll admit that she did the right thing for Alaska by quitting, because she’s a blindly ideological mush-brain. But she’s killing the Republican party by flailing around making it look like Republicans are the party of willful stupidity.

It seems the similarly titled “Going Rouge” got Fox News into some hot water.
