Well, heck, Amp this place is a restaurant. Shibb can tell us best what kind of place it is, but I’m bettin’ it wouldn’t be awful for a kid. I mean, you do gotta feed the kid and all, right?
That place would be okay for your son, but I’m sort of leaning towards not bringing my kids. Maybe we could make some arrangement, but I don’t know if that would work for you (email me).
I’m gonna be in the area all day Saturday. If we need to do something kid friendly earlier in the day if that’s cool. Of course, I’d like to do an adult type evening thing, cause, well, that’s just me, but anything to meet some Dopers is cool with me.

Well, I am definitely out. The curse struck again. It looks like I will be working 3 graveyard shifts in a row that weekend, which means the rest of the time I will be sleeping.
I’m starting to believe you don’t exist. Where do you work, we’ll come visit late at night, sort of our own little Insomniac tour?

Ok, Ima make me a reservation at a hotel near the place Shibb mentioned. I guess we need to decide on a meet up time and such.
How old are your kids? Gameworks is right near there, and that’s a great place for kids. But if they’re younger than say 10-12, you probably dont want to leave them there. Unless maybe they’re a very mature 4 year old. Then I see no problem with letting them hang out there while you go to some bar.
But anyway, that could at least let you guys meet there a little earlier, and then if you had to leave and take the kid home, at least you made a presence and got to meet folks.
Me…? God this sucks. I wish I could just lie and say that I have to work that weekend. But the only thing keeping me from showing up there is laziness. I’ll be in Tampa the weekend prior, and am driving back to Georgia on Monday night. So driving back to Tampa 4 days later just seems so tedious. I would almost be convinced to do it, but then I go on leave on the 12th, so I’ll just be driving BACK down to Tampa a third time in less than a month if I meet you guys on the 3rd.
If the weekend before wasn’t Memorial Day, I would be all over this meeting. But I think I’ll just have to put this one off and meet up with my DoperTwin sometime in the near future.

Visitors while I’m working would probably not be a good idea. If we’re busy I wouldn’t have time to socialize.

Bear_Nenno that’s cool. I don’t blame ya for not wanting to make the drive so often. What I need to do is get my ass up to Columbus. I’ve been promising SnakesCatLady that for a while now. Maybe we need to find out how many dopers in and around that area would be interested in a meet up.
If nuttin’ else, I’ll get to meet Shibb, so it won’t be all bad.
I may start a separate thread tomorrow about a “Tampa Dopefest”, since the Sarasota thing doesn’t seem to have been noticed by all.
A Columbus or Atlanta meet up would be awesome.
SCL tells me there’s a good Thai place in Columbus now. This intrigues me. Plus it’s only an hour and a half drive to Columbus. I’m all about the lazy ya know.

I’m down to be there, I’m wondering if there isn’t anyone coming from my neck of the woods that may be able to swing by and give me a ride. The truck is acting up and is not looking too reliable lately.
