got an e-mail recently offering a pre-programmed card for my satellite receiver which would allow access to ALL channels including pay per view. take out the old one, insert the new one and watch anything you want (their quote). price is $329. too good to be true. anyone else get this offer or know what the catch is?
The catch is that it’s illegal. Also, the cable company can change their scambling scheme at any time rendering the new card useless, it could be a couple of years or sometime next week.

Too good to be true. More that likely it is a reprogrammed H card, since they haven’t figured out the hack to the newer HU cards. First, if your system is newer(last year or so), the H won’t work. Second, the H card is vunerable to the systems counter-measures, which black out the card. There is a way around that, so I’ve read(I have cable), but doesn’t sound like they’re selling that, just the card. Plus, this whole thing is illegal anyway, going under theft of service.
