Saturday Mornings! EatingCereal from the Box, Watching Cartoons, Learning Scientology

Ah, Saturday mornings!
When you bounce down the stairs in your pajamas at five in the morning, grab the nearest box of cereal and plop in front of the TV, to enjoy those Saturday morning cartoons. I remember all those great Saturday morning cartoons and the life lessons that they dealt with. Like Muppett Babies when Ms. Piggy was horrified to find that she was possessed by the ghosts of space demons and they were causing her great pain and sadness. Fortunately Beeker constructed a “Beekmeter” which exposed and exorcised these spirits, freeing Ms. Piggy and giving her super powers.

Yep, fond memories of that and when Animal ate the table. Muppett Babies were grand.

Allegedly, cartoon writer Jeff Scott thought that cartoons could be a little more educational. So he slipped in a few Scientology tidbits. So says animation buff Amid Amidi, “That’s so thoughtful of Mr. Scott to give kids a little bonus prize with their Saturday morning cartoons.”

In my opinion, he didn’t go far enough. There is so much more to Scientlogy that screams to be adapted into the animated cartoon. There could be whole series about how a renagade leader brainwashes an entire population into becoming stupid while the huckster becomes fat off the riches of his slaves. Then he blows them up with megaton bombs.

This will be bigger than Left Behind: The Animated Series.

And probably better.

But not by much.

Hey, if you like that, you’ll love how Battlestar Galactica is informed by Mormon theology.
