Kelly Blue Book is a good place to start.
I have helped 3 family members buy used cars lately. No one places any value in “Kelly Blue Book” prices. Dealers and such use NADA. Lot’s of sites have helpful info on used cars, I like Autotrader’s. But Edmunds is good too.
I found that quoting the NADA price of a car to a salesman ended the price dickering game about 3/4 of the time. A salesman quoting blue book to me meant I wasn’t going to buy there.
About problems with a specific car, search USENET groups on google for your model/problem. (Let me guess “serpentine belt”, “battery”?)
